The Basic Starter Pack offers a low cost way to get started with monitoring temperatures and local alarming around your site. This system is ideal for boutique vineyards where you live on, or adjacent to, the block you want to monitor.

This system has one radio connected to your computer, which must be running continuously to log the data and generate alarms. The alarm is generated through the PC speakers and is activated when either one (or both) of the two remote temperature sensors fall below some user-defined threshold.

The system is easy to set up and simple to expand with more radios or different sensors. The Basic Starter Pack contains;

• 3x Indigo Systems Mesh Network wireless Nodes.
• 2x Temperature Sensors
• PC software (Windows XP, Vista) for viewing, logging and generating PC alarms

Web Starter Packs - only $1,995+GST

This starter pack offers an ideal way to get a basic but fully functional and highly expandable web-enabled frost monitoring network. The system contains:

• 4x Indigo Systems Mesh Network wireless Nodes.
• 4x Temperature Sensors
• 1x Base-station

The base-station collects information from the other radios in the network and uploads the data to the web-site for real-time viewing on a map-based display. It will also generate SMS alarms if any of the temperature sensors falls below a user-defined threshold.

The base station can connect to the internet via an existing broadband connection (using Ethernet) or via the Vodafone cellular network (provided coverage is available). The advantage of using an existing broadband connection is that the update rate is very fast (once per minute) and there are no additional data connection fees. The cellular connection will update the data once every five minutes during a frost but only twice per day otherwise. The basic web visualization and data hosting package is priced from $39+GST per month, with the cellular modem requiring an additional $13.49+GST per month for data uploading charges.

This system has the same core components as our fully customized solutions and so is readily expandable. It can be used in frost protection applications, including wind machine monitoring or water-based valve control and irrigation applications with the appropriate extra sensors and control devices.

Note that the cellular base-station is for indoor use only, however an outdoor enclosure with solar panel and battery is available for an additional $450+GST.
